Optometrist
Dr. Jessica Thompson is a native of southeastern Kentucky, raised in Knott County, KY. Dr. Thompson earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Alice Lloyd College in 2015. She then attended the Kentucky College of Optometry, where she was a member of the school’s inaugural class, graduating with her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2020.
Dr. Thompson is committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages. She has extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases, including glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, cataracts, and dry eye syndrome.
In addition to providing routine and medical eye care, Dr. Thompson is credentialed to perform expanded therapeutic procedures, including YAG laser capsulotomy following cataract surgery and the removal of benign eyelid lesions.
Dr. Thompson is an active member of the Kentucky Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She is also a graduate of the Kentucky Optometric Association Leadership Program, completing the program in 2024. She is committed to lifelong learning, professional leadership, and advancing the highest standard of eye care for the patients and communities she serves.
