Optometrist
Born and raised in Kapolei, Hawaiʻi, Dr. Ambrosia Peden grew up around optometric private practice and knew she wanted to become an optometrist after helping a young boy see his mother clearly for the first time.
Dr. Peden earned her BA in Biology from the University of Hawaiʻi in 2015 and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Optometry in 2021. She completed a residency in primary care and earned certification to perform YAG laser capsulotomies and laser peripheral iridotomies (LPI) in 2022. From 2022 to 2025, she also served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Optometry.
Outside of patient care, Dr. Peden enjoys giving back through Remote Area Medical (RAM) clinics, international mission trips, and annual church camp. She is married to fellow optometrist Dr. Trevor Peden, whom she met in optometry school, and enjoys playing games and spending time with family and friends.
